He was assigned as a consultant investigator to the National Transportation Safety Board for aircraft accidents in May 1979, January 1989 and February 1998. From July 1999 to July 2012 he served as General Manager of Sedona Airport in Arizona, with responsibility for daily operations, finance, planning, development, community relations, noise issues and grant application assurances. He was board certified as an Accredited Airport Executive by the American Association of Airport Executives in May 1992, named Arizona Airports Association Executive of the Year in 2004, credentialed as a Certified Airport Executive by SWAAAE in January 2007, served as a Glendale Airport Commissioner in 2018 and lectured at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 2021.
