**In one sentence:** Developers and AI agents can now publish company news from code through the LivePublicator API, using official livepublicator packages for Node.js and Python. Test mode is free, and every release gets the same AI-ready page as one published on the website.

LivePublicator has opened its press release API to developers and AI agents. Official packages for [Node.js](https://www.npmjs.com/package/livepublicator) and [Python](https://pypi.org/project/livepublicator/), both named livepublicator, let a developer publish a company's own news in a few lines of code. The Node package also includes a command-line tool.

The API follows the same three steps as the website. A release is checked first, for free: the API returns every problem at once, or a private preview link. The company reviews the preview. Publishing then takes one call and returns the live link within seconds, with a webhook when the release goes live. The [API docs](https://livepublicator.com/docs/api) cover each step.

Test mode lets developers build and try their integration without publishing anything. A release sent with "test": true goes to a private sandbox company, is never public, and uses no credit. A complete test release is on the [developer page](https://livepublicator.com/developers#test).

> "LivePublicator was built to give AI engines and agents company news in the clearest form there is. Now agents and the developers who build them can publish it too, with the tools they already use: a package, an API key and a free test mode. Whatever the route, from a chat to a line of code, every release ends on the same AI-ready page."
> Peter Chambers, Managing Director, LivePublicator

The API serves agents as well as people. LivePublicator publishes an [OpenAPI 3.1 description](https://livepublicator.com/openapi.json), an [llms.txt file](https://livepublicator.com/llms.txt), an [agents.md guide](https://livepublicator.com/agents.md) and discovery files under /.well-known, so an AI agent can find the API and learn when to use it. The same account also works from ChatGPT, Claude and other assistants through LivePublicator's [MCP connector](https://livepublicator.com/publish-from-ai), launched on October 16.

Every release published through the API gets the same page as any LivePublicator release: a [one-line summary](https://livepublicator.com/ai-ready/summary), [key facts](https://livepublicator.com/ai-ready/key-facts), a [Q&A block](https://livepublicator.com/ai-ready/qa-block), a [named quote](https://livepublicator.com/ai-ready/named-quote), [Schema.org data](https://livepublicator.com/ai-ready/schema), a [clean Markdown copy](https://livepublicator.com/ai-ready/markdown-copy), and an IndexNow notice to search engines. The full list is on the [AI-ready page](https://livepublicator.com/ai-ready).

The [agency plan](https://livepublicator.com/press-release-api) costs $99 a month for 10 release credits that roll over. Previews and checks are free, and a release that isn't published returns its credit. The first three releases from each new API key are checked by a person.

## Questions about this announcement

**Who is the API for?**
Developers, agencies and teams that publish news for one or many companies from their own software or AI agents. A company publishing only its own news can also use the website or its AI assistant.

**What does it cost?**
The agency plan is $99 a month for 10 release credits that roll over. Checks, previews and test releases are free.

**Can I try it without publishing anything?**
Yes. Add "test": true to a release. It goes to a private sandbox, is never public and uses no credit. See the developer page.

**Will a release published through the API be mentioned by AI tools?**
No one can promise that. LivePublicator publishes the page, tells search engines about it, and builds it so AI tools can read it easily.
