This is a vintage Birger Haglund of Sweden sterling bracelet.

This unique heavy 1940s bracelet has 7 links with beautiful patina surfaces and a leaves pattern. The simple hook clasp is an integral element of the design.

There are many marks: "Haglund Studio Sweden Sterling", the Stockholm town mark, the Swedish three crowns and S mark, and the date code T8 for 1940s.

Birger Haglund was born in 1918. He worked in Stockholm at Erik Fleming's Atelier Borgila in the late 1930s and early 40s, along with other noted modernist silversmiths including Rey Urban and Claes Erik Giertta. Haglund founded his own studio in 1944 and then another in 1948 in Johannesburg, South Africa. Y

This collectible bracelet measures 7" (18 cm) wearable length, and the band is 1 1/8" (just 3 cm) wide. It weighs a substantial 38.7 gr on my little scale.

There are no dings, dents or bends.

It has a nice age patina on the silver.

I do not clean antique or vintage jewelry pieces. I sell the pieces in the condition that I acquired them. Many people prefer the pieces with the original patina. Any cleaning, if desired, is left up to the new owner.
