A Q&A block
A Q&A block is a short set of questions and answers at the end of a press release, written the way people ask them: "Who is it for?", "Is it free?", "When does it start?". It is also marked up as FAQ data, so AI tools and search engines can tell each question and its answer apart.
What AI needs
People ask AI assistants questions. A page that already holds the question, in plain words, with a short direct answer right after it, is easy to match and easy to quote correctly.
Why most releases miss it
Classic releases are built for journalists, so they have no questions at all. When they do have an FAQ, it is often on another page and not marked up.
How an LP release covers it
Every release written with LivePublicator ends with "Questions about this announcement": usually three questions with short answers, plus FAQPage structured data on the page.
How to write 3 good questions
- Ask who it is for.
- Ask what it costs or how to get it.
- Ask the question a doubtful customer would ask, and answer it honestly.
Check it yourself
Open any live release and scroll to "Questions about this announcement". Then use the "Check structured data" links in its Verification box to see the FAQ data.
Questions
How many questions should a release have?
Three to five. Enough to cover what people ask, short enough to read.
Who writes them?
LivePublicator drafts them from your website and your news. You can change every one before you publish.
Will Google show them as rich results?
Google decides that. The FAQ data is valid either way, and you can check it yourself.
