An answer-first summary

An answer-first summary is one plain sentence at the top of a press release that says who did what, and why it matters. A clear summary is the line most likely to be read and reused.

What AI needs

A short sentence that answers the question on its own, with the company name and the news. No slogans, no "we are excited to announce".

Why most releases miss it

Classic releases open with a dateline and a long lead written for journalists. The real news is often in the second or third paragraph, mixed with marketing words.

How an LP release covers it

Every release written with LivePublicator has a box labelled "In one sentence": next to the headline on a computer, after the release text on a phone.

Questions

What makes a good summary sentence?

It names the company, says what happened, and makes sense if someone reads only that line.

How long should it be?

One sentence. Short enough to read in a few seconds, long enough to name the company and the news.

Does a summary make AI quote my release?

Nobody can promise that. It makes the news easier to read and quote correctly, and the reports on day 0, 1, 7 and 30 show what changed.
