Serenity Care Connection, a registered charity at 176B Grange Ave, Schofields NSW, now assists 400 people a day. The charity reached that daily figure in August 2026. It is supported by 47 volunteers who replenish food at all hours of the day.

The charity provides 1.2 to 5 tonnes of food per day and runs 11 programs, including four free food programs. Free food is available on the verandah at Grange Ave 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at no charge. Project Ngalaya stocks that food four times a day. V.E.S.P.A supports veterans, elderly people, students, parents and Aboriginal community members. Hear Us 24/7 invites people to share an idea, a concern or a solution at any time, by call or SMS on 0432 787 247 or by email. Nourish to Flourish, the free food program for schools, currently serves eight schools, with up to four more schools possibly joining in 2027.

"Reaching up to 400 people a day shows how much need there is right here in our area, and how much our volunteers give to meet it. We want people to know the verandah is open at any hour, with no questions and no cost to those in need. Our aim is to keep growing the school program so more families have one less thing to worry about."
Samey Khafagi, President , Serenity Care Connection

The programs are open to people in need in the Schofields area, including veterans, elderly people, students, parents and Aboriginal community members, and to school students through Nourish to Flourish. The charity sums up its work as H.O.P.E, Helping Out People Everywhere. It has also been enrolled as an entry-level Community Service Organisation in the United Nations Partnership program, together with the United Nations Association of Australia. Its first international program is taking place in Nkpor, Nigeria, with the Immaculate Heart of Mary Specialist Hospital, aiming to restore and improve the vision of over 4,000 local people.

People who want to volunteer, donate, ask about partnerships or enquire about V.E.S.P.A can email info@careconnection.org.au. Food drop-offs are taken by appointment or during opening hours. More information is at careconnection.org.au.
