Common mistakes
- Announcing the show before any episode is live.
- No direct listening link.
- A topic so broad it does not say who the show is for.
- Naming guests who have not recorded yet.
- No line about why the host knows the topic.
Where to share it
- Publish it on your website with links to every platform where the show is live.
- Send it to newsletters and blogs that cover your topic. Hosts of similar shows may also share it or invite you as a guest.
- Ask your guests to share their episode. Guests often bring the first listeners to a new show.
Questions
When should I announce a podcast?
When the first episodes are live, so readers can listen right away.
Can I announce a single episode?
Yes, if the guest or the topic is news on its own.
Should I include the cover art?
Yes. The show's cover art is the image most people will recognize.
How many episodes should be live at launch?
Many shows launch with two or three, so new listeners have more than one to try.
